For the launch of Publicis Groupe UK’s new brand, Octopus Group were approached by the groupe to design and build a completely new site to reflect their new position and brand identity. Other than being a large and exciting undertaking to represent the brilliant work being done across their world-class agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Digitas, BBH, it was also a huge privilege to be the chosen agency among such great sister agencies.

Approach

We worked with PGUK stakeholders and their branding team across approximately three months, taking us from initial research, user journeys, content mapping, from low to high fidelity wireframes and design, through to development. We leaned into the new PGUK brand of bold and contrasting typography and blocks of colour, creating large sections coupled with simple complimentary patterns and photography. As Publicis Groupe's strength is in its individual agencies and work, we kept the site simple and unobtrusive, leaving space for the content itself to take centre stage.

We chose to build on WordPress for its simplicity and flexibility (Octopus Group's go-to CMS), and content population was picked up by Publicis Groupe UK’s content team. The final result was a bold and individual site celebrated by the Groupe, supporting the main brand while holding up the individuality of each respective agency.
